SYNOPSIS:
Rowan Atkinson returns to the iconic role that made him an international star in ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday.’ In his latest misadventure, Mr. Bean–the nearly wordless misfit who seems to be followed by a trail of pratfalls and hijinks–goes on holiday to the French Riviera and becomes ensnared in a European adventure of cinematic proportions. Tired of the dreary, wet London weather, Bean packs up his suitcase and camcorder to head to Cannes for some sun on the beach. Ah…vacation. But his trip doesn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped when the bumbling Bean falls face first into a series of mishaps and fortunate coincidences, far-fetched enough to make his own avant-garde film. Wrongly thought to be both kidnapper and acclaimed filmmaker, he has some serious explaining to do after wreaking havoc across the French countryside and arriving at his vacation spot with a Romanian filmmaker’s precocious son and an aspiring actress in tow. Will Bean be arrested by the gendarmes or end up winning the Palme d’Or? It’s all caught on camera as Atkinson again applies his awkward athleticism to a comedy of errors in “Mr. Bean’s Holiday.”
Mom Review:
My first exposure to Mr. Bean was when visiting the U.K in the late 80’s when a friend played some video’s for me, which I thought were funny. If you have never heard of Mr. Bean before he is a character created and played by Rowan Atkinson, a British comedian, who had a T.V. show in Britain in the 1980’s. The Mr. Bean character rarely speaks and the laughter comes through his bizarre and idiotic actions. In Mr. Bean’s Holiday he wins a raffle of a prize trip to Cannes France. On his journey he has one mishap after another. If you were ever a fan of Mr. Bean and saw the first movie in 1997, but were disappointed, give this one a chance because it’s much better. The best thing about this movie was being able to enjoy some laughs with my boys ages 9 and 5 in a G rated movie where I didn’t have to block their ears, eyes, or forward to a safer spot in the movie like so many PG movies today.

The Book “I’m Doing the Best I Can!”
THE BOOK “I’m Doing The Best I Can!” (They won’t always be cute and adorable) is one of the most down to earth parenting/family resource you will find.
Lisa Hein, a parent herself, shares her parenting experiences from birth until her child walked out the door for college. She says “Being a mom, is a full time job that never ends.”
When her child was born, her world did a 180. When he was in elementary school, she was the center of his world. In middle school, she was the most ‘awesome’ mom ever, and by the time he went to high school, she was the most ‘ridiculous’ person he had ever met!
Her heartfelt story allows parents to see the mistakes she made, and how to not cross lines that may put you in harms way, eventually.
Parents today try to hard to be their child’s friend, to make sure that they have every technological gadget and games, that they have everything “we” never had….and the list goes on. Let’s stop this insanity, and bring back the theory that we were raised on…if you want it, earn it. Maybe then, we will not end up with self-absorbed children who think the world revolves around every one of their needs.
Hopefully, with lots of boundaries and consistency we will raise healthy, good decision making children that will not fall prey to what the world has to offer them!

Mom Review:
If you’ve got a Mario Bros. or Nintendo fan in your house then they might enjoy this DVD release. The quality of the animation and sound is decent, but not impressive. This DVD set contains 2 DVD’s and Each one contains five episodes that are broken in to two segments one Captain N and One Super Mario World episode. In the DVD menu you can select to just play all of Captain N or select all Super Mario World if you prefer to watch just either one of the shows instead of watching them all back to back. Another nice feature of the DVD menu is if you select the episode menu you can select just one episode of either show and on some of them it features a short preview when the title is highlighted. Overall this DVD is a great package for Super Mario and Nintendo fans.
